They’re dedicated to uncovering the best and brightest film making talent Britain has to offer, so each year, they give undiscovered film makers the chance to have their work showcased to millions through the UK’s biggest short film competition, Virgin Media Shorts.
If you’ve got a 2 minute 20 second masterpiece up your sleeve, you could soon be watching it on the big screen; in September, the 12 shortlisted films hit Picturehouse and independent cinemas nationwide for an entire year.
Look out for screenings of last year’s finalists at cinemas near you before the main feature. On top of that, the Grand Prize winner walks away with £30,000 of funding to work on their next short, along with money-can’t-buy mentoring from the leading UK film body, the BFI.
Whether you’re the next Ridley Scott or a Del Toro in training, every raw talent deserves a break. Virgin Media Shorts opens for entries on 12th April, so rustle up a crew and get shooting.
