Video: Olivier Assayas on Globalisation and Film

Olivier Assayas is the recipient of this year’s Bradford International Film Festival Fellowship Award. Prior to a screening of Irma Vep, which played as part of our Assayas retrospective, festival Co-Director Neil Young sat in conversation with the critic-turned-filmmaker to talk about his career.

In this clip, the two discuss one of Assayas’ greatest achievements in film, Carlos, and the consequences of globalisation, something which Assayas believes is not well represented in cinema.
