National Media Museum blog

From Bradford, UNESCO City of Film, we write about film, photography, television, animation, gaming and the web.

Can you spot yourself in McCabe and Beesley’s Bradford City photographs (part two)?

We’re still on the lookout for people who recognise themselves in Eamonn McCabe and Ian Beesley’s photographs of Bradford City FC and fans. Is that your Bantams tattoo? Were you working for St. Johns Ambulance during the Halifax v Bradford City game on 24th July 1999? Were you part of the crowd waiting for the team coach on 9th May 1999?

If you’ve visited the Museum this half term, you may have noticed our pop up exhibition of McCabe and Beesley’s work; the gallery is now also up on our website.

If you spot yourself or someone you know in the photographs below, share your Bradford City story at the bottom of this post and we’ll add it to the gallery of Bantams images on our website.

Don’t forget to submit your Bantams photographs to our Flickr group, because we’re now running a competition.

Submit your best Bantams Capital One Cup Final Day photographs, and the best images will be selected by our Curator of Photographs and featured on this blog. More details on Flickr

    Hi
What a great day out at Wembley – City fans certainly generated a fantastic atmosphere.
I took my trusty old Leica M6 and shot a few images from the fans perspective.
Will email you some tomorrow after I have finished processing them

Hi Ian. Great stuff – looking forward to it. Glad to hear Bradford fans were on good form, and, despite the result, I think everyone up here is so proud of what they achieved.

Hello, hope you (and Ian) don’t mind me asking the question. Once his images from the final were processed from film, what method does he (or you) use to digitise them for the blog? Thanks, John

Hi John. I don’t mind at all – I’ll certainly ask Ian, and get back to you as quickly as I can.
